I'm Susan,
and i'm happy to meet you.

I'm a word enthusiast who loves exploring the best ways to guide users through experiences. I love solving problems and enjoy collaborating with smart and talented people to help create the best products possible. 

I didn't know that I liked to write until I started thinking about the best way to communicate information with a particular user or task in mind. What's the best way to convey the idea? The most concise word? A paragraph? Bullet points? Humor? All caps? No words at all?  So many questions to ask when you're designing with words; it's endless. Content design and UX writing dovetail perfectly with my BFA in Product and Industrial Design, which has a very similar process, just different media.  Figma instead of polyurethane foam and resin for prototyping—I'll take Figma any day.

In my spare time, you'll find me taking photos of houses or cars in my foggy neighborhood on the west side of San Francisco or wherever I may be. I collect pottery made in California and love the thrill of treasure hunting in thrift stores and estate sales—what a rush when I find that special something! I love a Russian River Pinot Noir or a Chardonnay from Burgundy along with my husband's delicious cooking. Oh, and I make lambs out of butter every Easter, and an occasional turkey crudités at Thanksgiving.
