In-context help for Multiple Vehicle flow

Users that tracked trips for multiple business vehicles had trouble finding trips when reconciling their accounting. The "lost" trips get assigned to the user's designated primary vehicle. With no development resources, the team thought that in-context help explaining what happens to unassigned trips could help alleviate friction until the design problem could get fixed.

Adding this text to the mobile flow reduced user friction and service-center calls for lost trips.

Auto-Tracking

Users told us they wanted a notification to let them know when their trips weren't being tracked since this would result in them missing out on logging tax deductions. I re-wrote this notification with scannability as a top priority since there's a good possibility that the user would be driving when notified.

  • Header: Quickly explains why we're sending the notification.

  • Body text: Gives the user concise instructions about capturing all their trips. There were technical limitations to bolding text. While awkward, I used quotation marks (per mobile content guidelines) to emphasize the needed steps to rectify the situation quickly.

  • CTA: Reduces the cognitive load by recommending CTA deep link directly to settings.

Sales tax modal

This modal was a part of the mobile flow for small business owners setting up tax information for products they sell. Users are particularly tense about actions surrounding taxation, so this is the point in the flow was a pause for a little hand-holding. For this modal, I wanted to keep the tone assuring, but serious, straightforward, and informative.

Request for payment email and header

This email was designed to deploy from QuickBooks when a small business owner requests payment directly from an invoice.

The problem was that the "Email from" field displays the merchant email address, which, depending on the variables, may be unrecognizable to the user, which could cause the email to be ignored or deleted.

To make the business more recognizable to customers, I designed the fields to display the business name within the email and subject lines. To gain more familiarity and trust from the user, the preheader displays the customer's name.

Autopay reminders tooltip

While users love automated features, they do have their drawbacks—they're forgotten! We wanted to remind users, in context, about their current settings. With strict space limitations, I let users know about the status of their invoice reminders and how to change them. For quick scannability, I bolded the navigation path. Intuit started experimenting with icons and emojis in-product, so I used a gear icon (that indicates settings on the UI) to help users quickly identify where they can change their preferences. With an eye on accessibility, I was cautious not to rely solely upon the gear icon to communicate the message.
